Your first Space

Start with one part of your life that would benefit from a place to keep things.

Your Folio has Spaces. A Space brings together material that belongs to the same part of your life: a project, an interest, or simply the things you want to keep close.

Start smaller than you think.

You don’t need a complete system. Choose one subject you already return to. Give its Space a name you’ll recognize next week.

Write an Entry about what you’re exploring. Add a useful reference. Keep a file you would otherwise have to search for again. A few real things are more useful than an elaborate empty structure.

Let Collections follow the material.

Within a Space, Collections help you group Entries. Make one when a group becomes useful: reading, decisions, research, things to try. You can leave an Entry unfiled while you work out where it belongs.

Connect what you notice.

When one Entry relates to another, link them. Following a connection can be a more natural way to browse than remembering exactly where you filed something.

Choose access deliberately.

A Space is also a boundary for your connected agents. When you connect an assistant, select the Spaces it should be able to use. Something belonging to your Folio does not mean every connection gets to see it.
